Event 6/24: 13th Annual Strategic Litigation Roundtable – A Global Call to Action for Refugee Rights

On June 24, 2025, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is hosting a hybrid (virtual/in-person) forum for legal experts and advocates from around the world to discuss and collaborate in support of refugee rights. This forum is organized in partnership with the Platform of Independent Experts on Refugee Rights (PIERR). It serves as a unique opportunity to share strategic litigation strategies that advance refugee protection and international law.

The agenda will feature remarks from Siobhán Mullally, UN Special Rapporteur and Chair of PIERR, as well as legal scholars from a variety of nations and legal backgrounds. Additionally, there will be a focused session on border closures, with expert insights on the topic from nations such as Australia, Mexico, Colombia, the United Kingdom, Italy, and the United States.
