Vote on November 6 (or Before): The World is Watching
The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has deployed 35 long-term election observers throughout the United States, where they have been observing election activity since October 10. According to the OSCE website, the U.S. elections will be assessed “for their compliance with OSCE commitments and other international obligations and standards for democratic elections, as well as with national legislation.” Further, “[a]s part of the observation, the mission will also analyse and assess the media coverage of the campaign.”
The day after the election, November 7, the mission will release preliminary findings and conclusions, with a final report to follow about eight weeks later.
