First 100 Days in Human Rights
Human rights NGOs and scholars from around the world have weighed in on President Trump’s first 100 days in office.
Here, Access Now analyzes five major assaults on their human rights mission of digital access for users at risk. Activists at Amnesty USA compiled a full 100 ways in which President Trump has threatened human rights; compiling the list was “really easy,” said Amnesty USA director Margaret Huang. Offering a view from across the pond, Liverpool-based scholars David Whyte and Stephanie Khoury review the first 100 days and conclude that “corporate rights trump human rights” under the current administration.
For a more scholarly take on the first 100 days, check out the Illinois Law Review’s on-line symposium, with 31 essays on topics ranging from administrative law to tax reform. Five of the essays address civil rights issues, and several more touch on human rights concerns and international law.
