Celebrating 80 Years of the United Nations Charter: Reaffirming Faith in Human Rights Globally
On June 29, 2025, an event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations Charter will take place. Hosted at 2425 College Avenue, Berkeley, CA, and accessible virtually via Zoom, this hybrid gathering will take place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and will inspire renewed commitment to equality, equity, and ecology worldwide. Topics will include the rights of Indigenous Peoples, the United States’ Universal Periodic Review under the UN human rights system, and a Town Hall focused on localizing the Paris Agreement ahead of COP 30 in Belém, Brazil. Other sessions will explore implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda at the community level, and celebrate World Localization Day with a featured film, The Power of Local: Community Solutions to Our Global Crisis.
